CELLULAR POLYETHYLENE GC
A cellular plastic with a coarse cellular structure with a rough skin on both sides.
The material has a closed cellular structure and is well suited as a condense, air and thermal insulation, in leisure products, packaging and cushioning purposes.
A common use for this cellular plastic is as a thermal insulation where the material performs very well. With a thermal conductivity of 0,040 W/mK the material makes an excellent thermal barrier where you want to keep heat in and cold out, or the other way around.
As packaging the material is used with benefit when the material needs to endure different stresses.
The material is cross-linked, making it very tear and tensile resistant. For heavy duty packaging the material is available in harder and higher density versions keeping the material in shape without crushing the cell structure.
Lower density versions are flexible and bendable, while higher density options are harder and stiffer.
The coarse surface of the material makes it less sensitive compared to other cellular plastics when it comes to cuts and multiple uses.
When used as packaging the material excels in durability, making it usable more times compared to a non-cross-linked alternative.Â
Known products to us in this material are packaging, filling solutions, kneepads, roof profiles, thermal insulation for cabinets and ventilation products, gaskets and seals.
