Natural rubber
Natural-Rubber (NR) is a natural material retrieved from rubber trees. It is the first used industrial rubber material and is extremely durable, flexible, resilient and is well suited for very mechanically demanding products where a lot of weight, wear and compression should come into play. Material blends containing natural rubber are known to the world as para-rubber and latex that consists of high concentrations of natural rubber. Natural rubber is used a lot in heavy industries such as the mining industry and drilling equipment because of its high wear resistance and elasticity. The rubber is often used in resilient functions, gaskets, drill rubber, seals, splash protection and as vibration- and shock dampers. The material may be obtained in various colors, such as beige, grey, red and black. The different colors has to do with the rubber compounds and the color indicates difference in the materials hardness, elasticity and how much natural rubber is in the rubber compound. Natural rubber is very common as splash protection for mining machines and excavators. The material is very environmentally friendly because it is extracted naturally from the rubber tree.
