Polyamide PA (Nylon)
Polyamide is a material category of thermoplastics and is often used as an industrial plastic.
The material is very wear- and tear resistant as well as being very tough. Therefore the PA retains excellent mechanical characteristics. The Polyamide is well suited for production of spacers, distances and as a general industrial plastic material because of its extreme dimensional stability. Where extreme mechanical stresses will be put to the material and the products shape shall be retained, polyamide is a very good alternative.
Polyamid is FDA classified, very pure and can therefore be used with benefit for food industry, medical equipment and in clean room products.
The material may be acquired in qualities withstanding temperatures up to 95° with a short-term peak at 180° and is UL94 V-2 graded. Because of that, it is well suited for seals against oil and petrol.
Polyamide film is frequent for us as insulation. The material can with benefit be die-cut with folding points as an electrical insulation to fit in cabinets or enclosures as an electrical insulation in products, simply a shell in plastic.
The most common quality of polyamide is PA 6 and 6,6 that may be acquired in a natural- and black color.
