Fluor rubber (Viton®)
Viton®, also known as fluor rubber, FPM or FKM is one of the tougher rubber materials available for seals for acids, alkalis and other chemical substances. The material is very persistent against ozone, outdoor-environments and aging. The material can be obtained UL94 V-0 graded and withstands temperatures up to 200° with a peak of 250°. Therefore the material is very suitable to seal heated ASTM oils such as hydraulic- and motor oil. Since the material can withstand multiple chemical substances it is very suitable when substances such as gasoline, oils, acids, and alkalis should be sealed. We die-cut and waterjet cut in rolls or sheets of fluor rubber 60-80 shore for gaskets and seals for very high demands in technical products. Such as high pressure tanks, fuel cells, batteries and battery related products. The material can with good results be molded for a 3D-shaped gasket or as an O-ring. FKM/FPM is molded in multiple hardnesses to best fit and seal selected products in as low as 40-50 shore. The material is very often used in products within the car industry, steel plants, energy production and other high requiring products where the material is exposed to high temperatures and multiple chemicals.
